Do you really have freedom of speech?
liberation
/lɪbəˈreɪʃ(ə)n/
freedom from limits on thought or behaviour
‘If liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.’ ~George Orwell
One of the true British values that we all hold so dear is our freedom of speech. “Everyone has the right to freedom of expression” is outlined in Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998. But the law also states that this freedom “may be subject to formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society”.
How well do know your rights from your wrongs when speaking out about racial issues, frustration at new government policies, when you feel your rights have been violated or past injustices that you now feel empowered to share? Can you be fully liberated if you do not know what you can and can’t say before you cross the line and breach the law?
At LegalShield we believe that everyone should be able to access equal protection under the law, and for many talking to a lawyer is out of reach.
But now, more than ever, its vital for people to take the time to understand their rights. Millions of people have encountered at least one of these issues so far this year, and may have wanted to seek legal advice but did not know where to go, who to talk to or even if the information they gathered was still current and accurate.

Let’s face it, we want what we say to be heard, and to feel truly liberated we want what we say to make a difference – whether that relates to personal domestic issues we are facing or a wider movement of change. Knowing your rights helps you to take the right approach so that you can continue to move forward and be empowered every day.
LegalShield makes this a possibility for everyone because for over 45 years our cause has been to support those that encounter injustice, inequality, discrimination and suppression by using technology to connect people with legal experts quickly and in an affordable way by informing people about their personal rights to help navigate their way through difficulties, whether at work, at home, in a shop, or even social media, and in doing so giving them peace of mind.
It’s time to give yourself a voice, make a difference and take control in liberating yourself with the backing of an expert team.
